Du Bekâr!

It’s that time of the year again! During the six years of the cinematic releases of both the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movies my brain learned that besides Christmas the month of December belongs to Tolkien! I am really looking forward to the recently released new Hobbit Book (which I hope to find under a certain tree in a couple of days). And of course I thought it’s about time for a new project or two as the new year will be upon us soon enough, hehe. Like a lot of other Hobbit-enthusiasts around the globe the new Dwarves hailing from the Iron Hills really got me. Therefore it’ll be Durin’s people dominating ...

House Makabius arise

Today I would like to introduce my first Imperial Knight hailing from House Makabius. A really neat kit which was a real pleasure to assemble. With the help of several neodym magnets one is able to field various different patterns. I can’t remember how long this Knight took me to finish. I bought it the day it was released but since then it always was work in progress as I was not sure which House / colour scheme I should go for. When I first saw the heraldry of House Makabius I was instantly sold. Now after several other projects the Knight is finally ready for warfare. ...

Tank Forward – Into the Fury of Battle

The Spartan is one of my all time favourites of the whole Horus Heresy range. It’s not only a glorious model but also its rules are great. A relentless behemoth which breaks through enemy lines just to unleash a dozen Red Butchers into the heart of battle – one can indeed hardly resist such a tank. ...

Starting the new Season

All aboard the Blood Bowl hype train! Of course I joined aswell. Yesterday was the official release date of the new Blood Bowl box and I am very motivated to start this year’s new Season. In fact my last post regarding Blood Bowl was in 2013 so this was really about time. My Barak Varr Bowlers are ready for Kick Off but as a victim of the hype I wanted to paint another Dwarf for the team. I ended up with a referee and I hope he’ll be a bit biased when I have to face Greenskins and the likes. In fact I am planing to play some games with my Dwarfs and the next team ...

Wobble, wobble…

Here comes the first Ogre for my new Blood Bowl team, the name is Rufus. It’s a little conversion I made using the regular Warhammer Ogres. I just cut off the weapons and gave him two shoulder pads. The upcoming Ogres will be heavier conversions, stay tuned for more! ...

World Eaters – Drop Pod Assault

I always wanted to have a Space Marine force striking down from the sky with a classic drop pod assault. Now that I have enough infantry I was  just in need of some Drop Pods. The Legion Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaw was a must have as I really like the model and a Legion Kharybdis was also already built. ...

Out of the Dark

Out of the dark the Night Goblins march to war. Or better said they are gathering for a small vanguard force first. With the last three spear men I have 20 miniatures from under the mountains of the Eight Peaks finished and ready for some skirmish fun. Painting them was pretty entertaining and went quite fast as I already had more than half of the team ready because of my Warhammer Quest project. I am curious to see how these little fellas will stand the test of their first matches. ...

Third time is a charm

The third terrain piece for my custom-made Deathwatch Overkill board was finished recently. In fact I even completed the building of the fourth aswell but I think I’ll wait with the paint job until I have finished building the rest of the still missing terrain pieces. ...

Magos Makrotek Andall Balogh

Andall Balogh spendsquite some time on modifying and maintaining his manual augmentics. Despite him having mechanical hands for centuries now, he still prefers his left hand to wield his power axe. This is also the reason why Archmagos Drakavac gave him the name “Balogh” which means “the left handed” in Cyclotrathian dialect. Here is one of the many mysteries of Forge World: what exactly is this model? An Archmagos? Then the whole thing would be pretty small (compared to GW’s actual size of a Magos). But then again, the title of Makrotek is unique in the HH Books, which is why I think that this tiny fellow is indeed an Archmagos. Model-wise he is great as usual. FW never ...

Storm Eagle Gunship

It’s about time to conquer the sky above the battlefield and gain sovereignty over the airspace. The first step is a Storm Eagle, just an overall well designed model. A great combination of fire power, agility and transport capacity. Building it was true horror but it was worth the effort. ...
