The Golden Avenger

Brother Captain Karlaen, Commander of the 1. Company of the Blood Angels, Shield of Baal, reports for duty. Today’s model the Commander of the 1. Company of the Blood Angels will be used as a “count as Belial”. I would like to field a Deathwing army list the Blood Angel way. Within my regular Blood Angel lists there are hardly any Terminators at all. But I like the models way to much to not field them at all. In an earlier blog entry I shared my thoughts regarding the conversion of the model and how I would imagine the Archangels of the 1. Company of the Blood Angels to go as Deathwing Terminators: ...

Archangel Brother Captain Karlaen, Shield of Baal

I finished the first 5 Terminators of my 1. Company quite some time ago. I would like to field my Archangels, the first company of the Blood Angels, using the Deathwing rules as I am able to get much more Terminators on the table this way. Therefore I will need a fitting HQ model which will have Belial’s rules to get the Deathwing Terminators as troop choice. A short view inside the fluff of the Blood Angels shows that it is Brother Captain Karlaen, Shield of Baal, acting Captain of the 1. Company, the Archangels, of the Blood Angels. After the name was applied a proper model had ...

You want a little thunder? Or a little lightning?

Over the last few days i’ve been busy paintin’ my first five Assault Terminators. After adding them some additional Blood Angles icons they finally got their paintjob done. Brother sergeant Michelangelo can either be played as the veteran sergeant leading his squad as well as an ordinary Assault Terminator fighting side by side within a larger Assault Terminator squad. Here’s a little overview of the extra Blood Angels iconography i added to this Assault Terminator squad Upper row from left to right: Two pendants remove from Death Company shoulder pads, winged drop of blood from the Death Company sprue, hammerhead from the Death Company, drop of blood casted with an Oyumaru mold, crest with a another Oyumaru casted drop of blood, a pocket ...

Please state the nature of your medical emergency.

My second Sanguinary Priest is now ready for some action. As already presented in the Keeper of the Grail post, this is a converted Terminator with additional bits from several other models. I intend to play my Blood angels Terminators as ordinary Blood Angels as well as Dark Angels Death Wing since this enables me to play the 1st company of the Blood Angels. Therefore this fella can be equipped with either an energy weapon or a storm bolter depending on the Codex i use for playing. ...

Keeper of the Grail

Here comes my first converted sanguinary priest in terminator armor. Keeping in mind that I want to use my terminators as a count as deathwing army as well as ordinary Blood Angels terminators I also wanted to be able to field the sanguinary priest as an apothecary of a terminator command squad. Blood Angels apothecaries come with an ernergy weapon equipped whereas Dark Angels apothecaries sport a storm bolter. I added both weapon options by magnetising them. Having a storm bolter of the space marine captain sprue left, I exchanged the hand part of the storm bolter in order to create a weapon for the left hand and et voila the priest now sports both weapons and is able to ...

Thunder & Lightning

Last week I’ve been busy customizing terminators. I added some additional iconography to my terminators in order to have them appear more like Blood Angels. Some of the icons are left over bits from blood Angels sprues. Additionally I also casted some icons on my own with Oyumaru molds by making imprints of Blood Angels shoulder armor parts. The death company sprue contains a thunder hammer bit with Blood Angels iconography so i decided to use one of those thunder hammers for this terminator squad. This is going to be my first squad of terminators and therefore they need a sergeant leading them into battle. However i also intend to field an army completely made up of terminators using the deathwing list. ...

Hello! My name is Cervan Dante

It is done – i finally finished up my Golden Boy a.k.a. Commander Dante. Since it is going to be one of my centerpiece models of my nipple wing it took me some time to paint this fella. Today i finished the chapter master of my Blood Angels – Lord Cervan Dante. Now it is time to prepare for my battle against Goatmörser and his bad moonz. ...

Moar Golden Boyz

Currently i’m painting up to 1000 points worth of Blood Angels. Ever since the dawn of the latest edition of the codex Blood Angels I wanted to field an army mainly made up from the golden boys of the sanguinary guard. Today I would like to present you my 2nd squad of my upcoming nipple wing. My current goal is to paint the models for the following list: HQ Commander Dante - - - > 225 points Elite Sanguinary Priest, Flame Pistol, Power Weapon, Jump Pack, Melta Bombs - - - > 105 points Troops Sanguinary Guard, Chapter Banner, 2 x Power Fist - - - > 250 points Sanguinary Guard, 2 x Inferno Pistol - - - > 220 points Heavy Support Stormraven - - - ...

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s a Stormraven!

Here comes the finished Stormraven for my Blood Angels. The flyer will mainly be used as fire support for my nipple wing or some future-to-come descent of angels lists. I really like the Stormraven as it fits my style of playing very well and i also really like the bulky design of this model. I added the forgeworld Rhino doors to the Stormraven as i felt that a centerpiece model like this one should have some extra details on it. Since i want to use this gunship in different roles, e.g. tank busting or lawnmowing hordes from above, i magnetized the the primary weapon system options. Magnetizing the options for the servitor turret was a bit tricky as the weapon shields/casings also ...

Preshades of Grey

Some time ago if got myself an airbrush. At first i used it to prime larger models like terrain pieces or tanks and by time i started experimenting with painting gradients and shadings with the airbrush. As i got more and more familiar with my new brush i tried to do a little more than just priming my models. Today i would like to share some impressions of my first attempt on preshading a large size model with you. I really love to paint miniatures in a red color scheme. However painting red is a real pain in the ass if you want to achieve clean surfaces with a decent saturation of red. It used to take me ages to paint ...
