Assassinorum Execution Force Aleatoris

So there is a new standalone game taking place in the rich background of Warhammer 40K on the shelves. Flattervieh, Rekrom and me bought one box each. So it was really just a matter of time until we would give it a try and paint an Assassin. The fourth player among our ranks was Elrond who doesn’t own the box. But as he owns a huge army of Chaos Space Marines he was able to bring all of the needed villains and on top he also had an old Assassin ready aswell. I took some pictures and would now like to report on our tryout. There was an evil genius hiding between the stars of the Aleator ...

Honour thy Legion

As before the idea of the rivaling Legions is still omnipresent here even though they might all be on the Warmaster’s side. Having their martial background in mind it is more than possible to imagine that the Legions might have been up to challenges and duels between each other. Sometimes even in a very brutal way if one does consider the sanguis extremis rule of the World Eaters for example. So a Kill Team match between Flattervieh’s World Eaters and my Sons of Horus always seems like a good idea. But this time we had a special guest invited over for the very first time. As you our readers might have noticed Felix (or in some boards known ...

Kill Team Tournament I / 2015

Way to much time passed since our last Kill Team event in 2014. Unfortunately only four club members could make it and were brave enough to resist this summer’s day heat. Nevertheless we had some really entertaining matches. Cheers to my three club mates for the three great matches! It was a pleasure again as they all came with new Teams which I had never the joy of playing against before. I won’t put any further work into my Enslaver Kill Team as they are a Kill Team only project. And fun to play they were indeed. I had lots and lots of warp power dice to roll and all of them were immune to ...

Superior Firepower

This match was something special for me. A very good and old friend of mine (no Aleator club member) finally managed to finish the last strokes of the brush on his Tau Empire Kill Team. If memory serves me right the start of this task dates back almost six years. I was very excited when he told me that he was about to finish them soon and that we could finally set up a match which we talked about since ages. And I have to say that I was surprised in quite a positive way. These are the very first miniatures he ever painted and he even magnetised the weapon options for the Crisis suits. Very well done ...

Tha Big Race!

The recently released White Dwarf issue #37 (11. October 2014) featured a mini game written by Jervis Johnson. The rules seemed to be quite entertaining and I came to think about a way how I could use them with my Club Mates. It’s basically a racing game in which each player has got one miniature with some easy to learn rules. Now that I am in a Gorkamorka-mood I thought that it would be a great idea to make this an exclusive orky event. Thus I invited Flattervieh and Elrond de Gravenesse over as they already have some Orks in their collections. As you can probably remember, I came up with a new bike ...

The Battle for Grimslade

This small battle with 200 points for each side took place during a LotR/Hobbit event day we had a couple of days ago. Both Flattervieh and me were looking forward to field our freshly painted yet small forces. We didn’t roll on the table but went for the “The High Ground” scenario instead as I wanted to see my burial mound in action. Also it was just a perfect setting for the invading Uruk-Hai. Grimbold was certainly upset when he heard of Orcs roaming through the lands of his people, desecrating the graves of his forebears. Yay, great game & cheers Flattervieh! At first it really didn’t look so very good for ...

Bitter Pride

Who doesn’t remember the spectacular duel(s) between Loken and Lucius in the Horus Heresy novels? Or maybe the partner duels of Argel Tal and Kharn against two Champions of other Legions? It should be pretty obvious that the Space Marines are eager to prove themselves in front of their brethren. That’s what happens when you have a bunch of these guys who are full of themselves meeting up I guess. That was the start of an idea Flattervieh and me had, when we thought how we could get the Terminators and named characters of our traitor Legions on the table as soon as possible. Imagine Abaddon (who was never known to be a calm and non provoking character) ...

Another day on Isstvan III

As some of our readers might remember, there was this report some time ago. 500 points were the last limit, today it’s 750. Constant dripping wears away the stone. The Isstvan III setting is a great place for our Horus Heresy armies to get into battle. The World Eaters and the Sons of Horus are the right fit. As I am today bringing a new HQ unit to the field (the Champion of the Legion) one could imagine that the Sons of Horus are loyal followers of the Emperor and Loken and Flattervieh’s World Eaters are the bad guys again. We played Mission 5: Dominion from “Betrayal”. The 5 heaps ...

No Humies allowed today

We agreed on 200o points for each side and formed two teams. The Orks would be led by Flattervieh and Elrond while the Tyranids were under the command of Rekrom and me. We used one FOC for each side and since both Elrond’s and my forces aren’t that big yet our share in the armies were not that considerable. Still new to us was the Maelstrom of War mission we agreed on and the tactical objectives we would be getting during the game. Thanks for the funny event guys! Fortunately winning wasn’t so very important that day as the tactical objects Rekrom and me got were most of the time quite silly. We were told to destroy the Orks’ fortifications f.e. ...

A Tankard of Fungus Beer

Flattervieh, Elrond and me thought that it would be a good idea to get in shape for the current edition of Warhammer 40K. We might be a bit slow here but we’re at it and we prefer to get things like that handled in an easy-going manner. So we used our P500-Aleatoris house rules again, grabbed a beer (+heated the BBQ) and started some matches that pleased Gork and Mork for sure.   Well that was fun again! Thanks Flattervieh and Elrond for the nice event, the follow-up will come very soon! This was hardly a battle report … more like a small update what we are up to at the moment. I hope you enjoyed looking at ...
