Run Baby run!

The second Ogre for my Blood Bowl team is Gormash. In case Gormash gets the ball he is a relentless steamroller. Unfortunately the end zone is not always where he stops therefore the fans standing behind it have to watch out not getting stomped. I wanted to give this Ogre the forward pose of a runingback. Thus I had redo his legs and arms. He also got a ball and a helmet. ...

Dragonback Titans

Now that the Barak Varr Bowlers are ready for kickoff I am (of course) already looking for a new Team to paint. I really like the sculpts of the new Orc team from the recently released Blood Bowl box. Yet I am not a huge fan of their facial design. But that’s not a problem at all, both the regular Warhammer range and the 40.000 range offer lots of great choices here. Picking a name wasn’t that hard aswell. I found this cool map of the Badlands and decided that my Orcs should hail from the Dragonback Mountains. Then again Orcs are probably not a wise choice as they tend to have pretty similar ...

Starting the new Season

All aboard the Blood Bowl hype train! Of course I joined aswell. Yesterday was the official release date of the new Blood Bowl box and I am very motivated to start this year’s new Season. In fact my last post regarding Blood Bowl was in 2013 so this was really about time. My Barak Varr Bowlers are ready for Kick Off but as a victim of the hype I wanted to paint another Dwarf for the team. I ended up with a referee and I hope he’ll be a bit biased when I have to face Greenskins and the likes. In fact I am planing to play some games with my Dwarfs and the next team ...

Wobble, wobble…

Here comes the first Ogre for my new Blood Bowl team, the name is Rufus. It’s a little conversion I made using the regular Warhammer Ogres. I just cut off the weapons and gave him two shoulder pads. The upcoming Ogres will be heavier conversions, stay tuned for more! ...

Something is crawling on my feet

Before the release of the new Blood Bowl game I would like to build an Ogre team. I really like the mix of the big Ogres and the tiny Snotlings. The last straw convincing me was the fact that the Ogres are able to throw the Snotlings if they wish to. The team’s name will be “The proud bumping Bellies” (TPBB) and as a start I finished some Snotlings from the second edition of Blood Bowl. I painted 10 so that I am able to replace casualties immediately. ...

Ready for Kickoff

The Woodland Poison Leaves Blood Bowl Team featuring the Treeman Rooty is ready for their first match. As there are only the old and rare metal miniatures around for the Wood Elves I had to come up with something else. I bought a box of Dark Eldar Wyches as they seemed to be quite a good alternative. I got rid of their weapons, the spikes and their back packs. After a suitable paint job a team of 9 field players and a Wardancer were created. ...

Growth of a Treeman

As a start of a Wood Elves Blood Bowl Team I decided to scratch build a Treeman as the whole team ought to be ready quick and not pricey. Therefore I didn’t search for a miniature online and waited for its arrival. I started with a frame made of left overs from plastic sprues. To get that rough bark look I went for a cheap putty instead of green stuff. Just for the later steps such as roots, a mushroom and the face some green stuff was used. After the paint job the “branches” got some turf to get some green on the tree. All in all the miniature’s cost is below two Euros, not counting the paint. ...

Barak Varr Bowlers finished

The Troll Slayer Brond Firebeard and the Runner Grutle Silverleg are the latest additions to the Barak Varr Bowlers Blood Bowl Team. The Team hailing from the only dwarven sea port is ready for rumble! Tested in fierce brew house bashes fighting against the brutal scum that sails the oceans of the old world those dwarfs’ skills were already tested and they will be a hard challenge for sure.   The finished Team: Now that the Team is ready I should probably think about numbers for the players (even if I am able to distinguish the miniatures quite good). Rorik Thunderfist – Blitzer Helm Irongut – Blitzer ...

Respect the Elders!

When I thought about the colour of my Dwarfs’ beards I left the grey ones completely aside. Of course there is no place for the old on the harsh playgrounds of Bloodbowl…what was I thinking? The grey bearded Long Beards have always been a superb unit on the battlefields of the Old World. Just imagine someone told them that they’re too old for battle…hilarious thought. So when insight was finally kicking in I decided to paint the next two dwarfs as grey beards. You better respect the Elders young lad! ...
