More “volunteers” for the Dawi Zharr

The first matches of Border Princes Skirmish are over now and were real fun actually. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that yet another team of Chaos Dwarves is due. Therefore Nagrot’zarr is in need of more Hobgoblin support. As I will need a full unit of them for our 500 points plans anyway I finished them all at once. But maybe a full Hobgoblin skirmish team would be a good idea aswell? ...

Captain of Minas Tirith

My tiny Gondor project was still lacking a hero. I thought it would be a cool idea to have the leader of my patrol from Minas Tirith sitting on a horse. Unfortunately the only mounted models I like such as Boromir f.e. were all way to expansive for such a small project. Thus I had to come up with a little conversion. Carving my way through the metal of the miniature was a tough job though. ...

Let the games begin

The Proud Bumping Bellies’ last miniature for the time being is no other than Captain Tozug. Tozug is the smartest of the bunch to the extent of Ogres being smart at all. Yet he is the one keeping the survey of the wild tackling of his other team mates while bellowing short orders. Provided that the other Ogre players are not to stuipd to act as they were told every now and then they are able to perform a drive and finally a touchdown. It’s no rarity to see Tozug grabbing the ball carrying Snotling throwing him to the end zone. I wanted to create a throwing Quarterback miniature for Tozug. The conversion was the most complex so ...

The Head Coach

When I first read the new Head Coach rules on page 38 of “Blood Bowl Death Zone Season 1” there was no doubt that my Dwarf Team the Barak Varr Bowlers were in need of a new model. “If you have a suitable miniature representing your Head Coach, you can argue the call when one of your players is sent off for committing a foul or using a Secret Weapon.” So I grabbed an old dwarf miniature from the Warhammer range which was released around the same time as my Blood Bowl team dwarves (late 80ies, early 90ies). The former bowman got some new bits, some green stuff and voilà – Head Coach Ansgrim Flintbrow and ...

Make some noise for Golgosh

Playing Blood Bowl often means capturing the ball by pure force. Golgosh is very aware of this fact and uses his immense weight to tackle everything in his way to get through the enemy lines. When I converted Golgosh I made sure to give him a forward leaning posture to achieve a tackling look which could even root out a Treeman. ...

Run Baby run!

The second Ogre for my Blood Bowl team is Gormash. In case Gormash gets the ball he is a relentless steamroller. Unfortunately the end zone is not always where he stops therefore the fans standing behind it have to watch out not getting stomped. I wanted to give this Ogre the forward pose of a runingback. Thus I had redo his legs and arms. He also got a ball and a helmet. ...

Enslavement of a race

Today I would like to introduce my new Kill Team: The Zoats. Not much is known these days about this xenos race. I focused on the part of their lore regarding their supposed enslavement by the Tyranids. The question now is, how the Tyranids would be able to do so. Thus I came up with a whole new-made up unit, the Cephalotrophs. The Cephalotrophs are a small, floating breed of Tyranids who have quite a fragile body which mainly is a gland plus a little tail. While on the hunt their chitin scale is used to protect them but as soon as they find a possible host they try to hug them from behind. Flesh hooks are fired ...

Before the Watch

You might remember my take on Drenn Redblade some weeks ago for our planed Deathwatch Overkill event. As I’ve said back then I planed to convert my own version – Brandr Redblade – and show him in his younger days when his duty in the Watch was still to come. And that’s what I did recently. I am in need for more Blood Claws for a planed Heralds of Ruin Kill Team match. Therefore Brandr I painted him in his freshman days before he showed a remarkable talent for the Xenoshunt and as a part of my Blood Claw pack. I used the opportunity to give all of the old Blood Claws and the Wolf Priest ...

Ready for Kickoff

The Woodland Poison Leaves Blood Bowl Team featuring the Treeman Rooty is ready for their first match. As there are only the old and rare metal miniatures around for the Wood Elves I had to come up with something else. I bought a box of Dark Eldar Wyches as they seemed to be quite a good alternative. I got rid of their weapons, the spikes and their back packs. After a suitable paint job a team of 9 field players and a Wardancer were created. ...
