The War Hounds’ Pride

Proudly the banner of the War Hounds is showing above their heads, dripping with the enemies’ blood. Hagall the present standard bearer was born on Terra and is part of the Legion since their early War Hounds days. He carries the banner for a very long time already. Always at his side marches his comrade Gjord who is like a brother for Hagall. ...

Night Lords – Night Raptors

Here they come… the Night Raptors. Packing a punch when getting into combat, they are devastating against MEQ. With potential Hammer of Wrath attacks and D3 additional attacks on the charge, they are really powerful. And with being bulky models, they outnumber the enemy most of the time for a 2+ to hit (WS5) and a 3+ to wound (Str4) using the NL special rules. Also they are great as an escort for Curze, but most of the time they are jsut overkill in that role, so I’ll be painting an Assault Squad in the near future. ...

Night Lords Xiphon

The Xiphon, the first Space Marine flyer I bought. When I first saw it in on the FW page, I knew I had to get one. It is just such a beautiful model, and went together like a treat. Since I painted it, I used it in a couple of games and it never let me down. I find it perfect for hunting other aircraft and light vehicles and walkers alike. For the base I made a mold of the FW City Fight RoB board rhino and painted it as a burned out wreckage. I find it better not to paint other legion colors so you can use the models against anyone thematically. What`s your favourite ...

Night Lords Contemptor

The Contemptor is a versatile weapon’s platform. It can be used as the normal variant, the mortis one with is especially good against flyers and the new variant, the Cortus. I modelled mine with magnets on the shoulders, so I can use different weapon loadouts.I like to use the contemptor in Zone Mortalis games, they are devastating in those close quarters. In larger games, where I play almost always the Terror Assault Rite of War, it doesn’t get used so much. When I use them, it’s with 2 CCWs and in a Dreadclaw Droppod. Are you using Contemptors and do you prefer the shooty variant or the close combat type? Til next time. ...

Scythe

Scythe – Questoris Knight Crusader of Scion Albert Makabius The last entry for House Makabius was finished and is ready for battle. The Knight will mostly serve as a Crusader but thanks again to Neodym magnets I am very flexible again here. Now there are two Knights still sealed in their boxes left on my shelf. The next one I will work on will be a Forge World Knight again. ...

Night Lords Apothecarii

Apothecarii. Destined to roam the battlefield in search of their fallen brothers. For me, after the new FAQ they got even better since they can join my Terror Squads and now can also be equipped with a jumppack to be used together with my Night Raptors or Assault Squads. So, what are your uses for Apothercariis? Are you using them and for what? Til next time. ...

Four Year Anniversary

Another year has passed and it is now four years ago since the Aleatorblog opened its  gates with its first post. We’re basically still doing what we used to do back then yet we don’t get to see each other that often anymore. But most of us are still working like crazy behind our hobby desks to get these little plastic men ready for tabletop warfare. So we figured it could be fun to take a closer look at our starting point and the climax of our own brush history. What were the Aleatores’ first miniatures, what are their ...

Hound of Baroda

Hound of Baroda – Questoris Knight Errant of Scion Gerhard Makabius Slowly the Knight House Makabius is growing. So far it consists of 2 Questoris Knights who are able to cover each and every option thanks to neodym magnets, a Cerastus Knight Acheron and of course the mighty Acastus Knight Porphyrion. Yet another Knight is already in the works. ...

Acastus Knight Porphyrion – House Makabius

Pride of Makabius – Acastus Knight Porphyrion – of Arbalester Reinhold Makabius Finally it is done! I finished this beast. The Acastus Knight Porphyrion certainly is among the biggest kits I have painted so far. It was a real pleasure finishing him and he really looks good next to the rest of House Makabius. It is amazing if you keep in mind that he was intended to be an upgrade kit for the regular Knight kit but now is the almost the size of a Warhound Titan. ...
