Heldrax Goretouched

Here comes the first painted miniature of the Gorechosen box I got for Christmas recently. Heldrax Goretouched is a really cool miniature and it was a lot of fun to paint him. The horns around his neck really stand out and give him something special. ...

Bretonnian Wine

Just like my Khorne Skirmish Team the Bretonnians are still work in progress. Today I added a very special dog of war. It is Gui le Gros sculpted by legendary Michael Perry in 1996. This has to be one of the coolest miniatures of the whole Warhammer range ever, if you ask me of course. Luckily I am not alone here as he entered the White Dwarf hall of fame some time ago. Unfortunately there are no rules for him in the most recent armybook thus I have to field him as a regular Peasant Bowmen. In my skirmish team he became a dog of war though. Delivering fine bretonnian wine from Bordeleaux to the men, ...

Sound the Horn

During the last weeks I played some matches with my new Night Goblin skirmish team which was a hell lot of fun. Especially the Squig Hoppers were a blast to field. Of course this gave new motivation to work on my still WIP-teams such as the much more elite Warriors of Chaos / Khorne team. They are especially fragile against rout tests due to their low number. That’s why the new musician comes in quite handy. ...

Out of the Dark

Out of the dark the Night Goblins march to war. Or better said they are gathering for a small vanguard force first. With the last three spear men I have 20 miniatures from under the mountains of the Eight Peaks finished and ready for some skirmish fun. Painting them was pretty entertaining and went quite fast as I already had more than half of the team ready because of my Warhammer Quest project. I am curious to see how these little fellas will stand the test of their first matches. ...

Grudgit Backstabba

Grudgit Backstabba is an ambitious Night Goblin from the ever-growing crooked moon tribe of the vast caves under the Eight Peaks. His fame is yet not big enough that he has caught the mighty Warlord Skarsnik’s attention yet. But he managed to rise above his fellow greenskin brethren and that alone is a remarkable peak in a Goblin’s life. We’ll have to wait and see how Grudgit and his bunch of Night Goblins will stand the test of the skirmish battles to come. Now I only need to finish three additional Goblins with Spears and I am ready for a match! ...

The Dawi Zharr set in their raid

After I noticed Goatmoerser pumping out one Regiment of Renown Warband after the other and after the first Warhammer Skirmish Battle Report there was no turning back for me. I grabbed the Chaos Dwarfs boxes from the shelf and started the assembling. Of course I immediately ordered more stuff because you never know 🙂 An army list was written and a colour scheme was chosen. After the typical long search for the right colours the painting session was due and the first match was already ahead. ...

Blood for the Blood God

Hard to believe no one before me used this catchy title for a blog post yet. Today I would like to introduce the leader of my Khorne pack for Warhammer skirmish: Crar the Annihilator, Crar the Giant or Crar the Breaker. A Champion of Khorne who has many names among mortals. The tale of his deeds is well-known in the northern wastelands. And as his way drenched in blood led him to the south a pack of Barbarians, also worshippers of Khorne followed in his wake. Now they are on the prowl to collect skulls for their blood thirsty master. Usually I am not a fan of the gigantism which the Age of Sigmar brought upon the Wahrammer ...

A Crooked Moon

As I’ve said in my last post, I’m busy with painting three warbands for Warhammer skirmish right now. The Bretonnians, the Khorne Barbarians and now a bunch of Night Goblins. Fortunately I already got plenty of Night Goblin stuff from my Warhammer Quest project so that painting a 100 points warband is not a big hassle at all. Here comes the list I came up with: 15x Night Goblins 6x short bows 1x Boss 2x Night Goblin Squig Hoppers 1x Night Goblin Herder 2x Cave Squig 98 points in total The first exclusive miniature I painted was this neat sculpt from Forge World, the standard bearer. The banner is probably too massive for a warband but I ...

A blood-red trail

Help! I can’t stop starting new Warbands for Warhammer Skirmish. The test match really inspired me so that I am right now working on three new teams simultaneously. I got my hands on some of the Khorne models from the Age of Sigmar starter set and couldn’t help but fall in love with them. The old chaos barbarians are still quite cool but if you aim for Khorne there is no way around these dudes. Well in fact the miniature that got me started was the Khorne Warrior that came with the new White Dwarf but this is a story for yet another post. Here is the list I came up with. Notice the number of ...
