Legolas

“A red sun rises, blood has been spilled this night.” Legolas – The Two Towers I have a good run painting the Fellowship right now. Legolas was the second to last miniature I had to paint. Now it’s only Gimli who is left and of course the scenery base. I think I can count the amount of Elves/Eldar I have painted on one hand over the years. I’m more the dwarf-player to be honest. Yet I quite enjoyed painting Legolas Greenleaf and it didn’t differ too much from my usual painting routine. The most remarkable difference was that I had to give him a lighter skin tone. ...

Koenen Sigfric

This is my third Marine for our upcoming Deathwatch: Overkill campaign. Since we would like to start with Kill Team Ecxis first all of us need to paint the five additional Space Marines aswell. I went for the Howling Griffon as I always had a soft spot for that chapter. I think this medieval touch the chapter has is pretty nice which is why I went for another head. ...

Boromir

You carry the fate of us all, little one. If this is indeed the will of the Council, then Gondor will see it done. Boromir – The Fellowship of the Ring Back in April 2016 I started painting the Fellowship of the Ring. I continued doing so including several brakes. The last step was Aragorn at the beginning of this year where I said that I try to finish this project in 2017. Still possible yet regarding the long brakes I usually take during each miniature it can be still considered as a challenge. Next one will be Legolas as I continue painting them in their order of appearance during the ...

Hey you there!

After showing the Goblin Referee now the clam pack’s Halfling follows next. I can’t put my finger on it but I was really enthusiastic painting this miniature. Maybe that was due to the freehand stripes on his shirt? Now I have to hunt down the Dwarf Referee and the Human Referee on the net to complete the quartette. ...

New support for my World Eaters is on its way. A squad of ten Marines armed with Volkite Culverin is ready now. This unit was a must have for me as I really like the Volkites’ design. I am really curious to see how they will perform on the battlefield. ...

Ennox Sorrlock

As you might have noticed we had a really great time playing Deathwatch: Overkill lately. Actually we agreed on playing the whole campaign as soon as possible. Therefore all four Aleator-Players sorted four Deathwatch Marines out who we were going to play during the campaign (including Kill Team Excis of course). Of course I got this fella here and today’s Iron Hand Ennox Sorrlock. Be prepared for the other two members of the Deathwatch soon. Regarding the bases I tried to be as close to Rekrom’s marvelous tiles as possible. ...

Night Lords – Deredeo Dreadnought

Here I present my Deredeo Dreadnought. While it takes some getting used to because of its looks, it has always been a joy to play. Good against flyers and ground troops alike, it has proven itself on the battlefield for taking down Xiphons, Castellax, Speeders, light vehicles and more. Here my conversion for the Atomantic pavaise. I used it sucessfully in Zone Mortalis games. Do you use Deredeos? And what’s your favourite loadout? Has anyone played with the Hellfire Plasma Cannonade? ...

Deathwatch: Overkill – Killstorm

Finally! After my clubmate Rekrom finished the last remaining tile for the first couple of missions we were able to sit down and give this game a try. No really, we waited with the first game until we had everything fixed for maximum tabletop goodness. I really have to praise Rekrom’s dedication towards this project. It was a blast playing on these marvelous tiles. Thanks mate, on the board they look even better than on the pictures. Also I would like to thank Kjeld for his help on the project. He painted some of the required cultists and came up with these cool vents you can see on the board. They have no relevance ...
