The Quest is on

And another small project has ended, at least under the brush. With the last three Men at arms finished my Bretonnian Skirmish Warband is ready for the gaming table. Alas these finished projects are kind of a self-deception as the next step the 500 points list is long ready and the necessary miniatures were bought months ago. Not complaining though. Actually I am really looking forward painting my first Bretonnian Character. Also I am quite curious to see how they will act on the table. I expect a lot of brave deeds, well at least from the Knight. From the peasants maybe not so much, hehe. ...

Banner of Couronne

Soon my Bretonnian Skirmish Team will be ready for their first match. I recently finished four peasants, one of them is a Dog of War, a standard bearer. I decided that the team should hail from Couronne, thus showing the heraldry of the king on the banner. In 2035 I probably have painted an army huge enough to be led by the King himself, Louen Leoncoeur. ...

Chivalry

Lady, I am your servant and in this time of trial I once again offer you my blade and service. When the clarion call is sounded, I will ride out and fight in the name of liege and Lady. Whilst I draw breath the lands bequeathed unto me shall remain untainted by evil. Honour is all, chivalry is all. Such is my vow. the ritual vow of a Knight of the Realm Here he comes, the leader of my Bretonnian skirmish warband, Geoffroi le Valeureux. He’s an experienced Knight of the Realm, hailing from Couronne, his King’s dukedom. He gathered his men to protect his land in the service of the Lady of the Lake. ...

Bretonnian Wine

Just like my Khorne Skirmish Team the Bretonnians are still work in progress. Today I added a very special dog of war. It is Gui le Gros sculpted by legendary Michael Perry in 1996. This has to be one of the coolest miniatures of the whole Warhammer range ever, if you ask me of course. Luckily I am not alone here as he entered the White Dwarf hall of fame some time ago. Unfortunately there are no rules for him in the most recent armybook thus I have to field him as a regular Peasant Bowmen. In my skirmish team he became a dog of war though. Delivering fine bretonnian wine from Bordeleaux to the men, ...

The Yeoman

I’ve got a fixed date for a RoR match with my Dwarves against Elrond’s Skaven finally. This will most likely increase the need to test other teams aswell right after the match. So my Bretonnians got some mounted supply today. Also I changed my list quite a bit again: 1x Knights of the Realm 1x Gallant 8x Man-at-arms 3x Peasant Bowmen 3x Light Armour 1x Mounted Yeomen 15 1x Light Armour 1x Shield 100 Points in total I noticed a funny detail about the miniature while I painted it. I’ve never ever painted a rider on a regular horse before. Sure, there were Goblins riding wolves or riding Varg, recently even riding ...

Peasantry

I’m not really in a hurry to finish my Bretonnian Regiment of Renown as I haven’t even play tested my Dwarves yet. So today you’ll get to see only some of Bretonnia’s peasantry. My small 100 points list got some minor changes though: CORE: 1x Knights of the Realm 1x Gallant 9x Man-at-arms 2x Peasant Bowmen 2x Light Armour SPECIAL UNITS: 1x Mounted Yeomen 1x Light Armour 1x Shield 99 points – 13 models ...

Hail Bretonnia

Ah, the joy of starting a new project! I’m back to starting another Kill Team right after the other just that I switched over to Warhammer now. The Dwarf Team is ready and I have something else to work on. I am of course ignoring the fact that I already started to build the Duardin up even more yet it’s always a good idea to talk yourself into having enough resources for a new project, haha. Well it’s the Bretonnians this time. Always been a fan, never had the guts to work on them before. Woe is me though! After browsing through the net I came to the conclusion that hunting the miniatures is quite a ...
