Night Lords – Deredeo Dreadnought

Here I present my Deredeo Dreadnought. While it takes some getting used to because of its looks, it has always been a joy to play. Good against flyers and ground troops alike, it has proven itself on the battlefield for taking down Xiphons, Castellax, Speeders, light vehicles and more. Here my conversion for the Atomantic pavaise. I used it sucessfully in Zone Mortalis games. Do you use Deredeos? And what’s your favourite loadout? Has anyone played with the Hellfire Plasma Cannonade? ...

Night Lords – Terminators

Since there aren’t any Atramentar models (yet) I use some mormal Tartaros terminators in my games. When playing Sevatar I can deepstrike them, since foot slooging isn’t that great of an idea (I learnt that the hard way). I use Tartaros since they can sweep after winning an assault, what makes them even better. And benefitting from the Talent for Murder rule and being bulky, they have quiet a punch in CC. Also against vehicles they are good, which is always important for Night Lords, as our Terror Assault RoW is limited in this area. ...

Night Lords – Land Speeder

My landspeeder squadron brings some much needed anti tank firepower to my Terror Assault lists. You can zoom around on the battlefield or deepstrike them in the back of a landraider or spartan. I used to play them with a Multimelta and some missles each, but since our last Heresy event I added some grav guns to them.   ...

Night Lords – Night Raptors

Here they come… the Night Raptors. Packing a punch when getting into combat, they are devastating against MEQ. With potential Hammer of Wrath attacks and D3 additional attacks on the charge, they are really powerful. And with being bulky models, they outnumber the enemy most of the time for a 2+ to hit (WS5) and a 3+ to wound (Str4) using the NL special rules. Also they are great as an escort for Curze, but most of the time they are jsut overkill in that role, so I’ll be painting an Assault Squad in the near future. ...

Night Lords Xiphon

The Xiphon, the first Space Marine flyer I bought. When I first saw it in on the FW page, I knew I had to get one. It is just such a beautiful model, and went together like a treat. Since I painted it, I used it in a couple of games and it never let me down. I find it perfect for hunting other aircraft and light vehicles and walkers alike. For the base I made a mold of the FW City Fight RoB board rhino and painted it as a burned out wreckage. I find it better not to paint other legion colors so you can use the models against anyone thematically. What`s your favourite ...

Night Lords Contemptor

The Contemptor is a versatile weapon’s platform. It can be used as the normal variant, the mortis one with is especially good against flyers and the new variant, the Cortus. I modelled mine with magnets on the shoulders, so I can use different weapon loadouts.I like to use the contemptor in Zone Mortalis games, they are devastating in those close quarters. In larger games, where I play almost always the Terror Assault Rite of War, it doesn’t get used so much. When I use them, it’s with 2 CCWs and in a Dreadclaw Droppod. Are you using Contemptors and do you prefer the shooty variant or the close combat type? Til next time. ...

Night Lords Apothecarii

Apothecarii. Destined to roam the battlefield in search of their fallen brothers. For me, after the new FAQ they got even better since they can join my Terror Squads and now can also be equipped with a jumppack to be used together with my Night Raptors or Assault Squads. So, what are your uses for Apothercariis? Are you using them and for what? Til next time. ...

Night Lords Terror Squad (Part 3)

“We have received your offer of surrender and reject it; we did not come to receive your supplication but to enact judgement. The time to surrender has long passed. The verdict is writ by your own hands. Now is the time to die.“ – Night Lords multi-channel vox-broadcast, The Pacification of Listrantia IV So here is the third and last one of my Terror Squads. With this squad I chose to go a different route, as they will ride into combat within a Dreadclaw. So they got close combat weapons and a flamer, and are only 8 man strong to make room for the HQ and an apothecarion. Speaking of apothecarians, guess what’s coming in ...

Night Lords Terror Squad Part 1

“Surprise is an insubstantial blade, a sword worthless in war. It breaks when troops rally. It snaps when commanders hold the line. But fear never fades. Fear is a blade that sharpens with use. So let the enemy know we come. Let their fears defeat them as everything falls dark. As the world’s sun sets… As the city is wreathed in its final night…Let ten-thousand howls promise ten-thousand claws. The Night Lords are coming, and no soul that stands against us shall see another dawn.“ – The War-sage Malcharion Welcome to my second post about the VIIIth Legion. Today we take a look at the bread and butter unit of the Night Lords, the Terror Squad. ...
