Under a Bad Moon

Ogruul's Boyz

Ogruul’s Boyz

Within the Aleator subsector there are many Orks. One of these Orks is the the mean and ridiculously obese Warboss of a Bad Moon Clan. His name is “Ogruul the fat” and he has gathered his Boyz to wage war on the Imperial authorities of the subsector. With his incredible riches (Teeth) Ogruul manages to have more bodyguards around him than any other Waaaghboss. As the tightwad he is Ogruul loves to spend his money on food and other luxury but refuses to give riches to his Boyz as well. To protect himself from a collapse he gathered an elite bossmob around him which is an exception to his scrimpiness. Together with the other fat orks the rest of the clan are under the iron command of their bosses.
Ogruul is known for making buisness with everybody, even human outlaws and rogue traders. Even if a trade with Ogruul usually isn’t a good idea at all.

  1. Hi! I don’t know what the chances are of this comment being seen after two years are, but I’m just starting an Ork Bad Moons army myself.

What color did you use to prime your figurines? Having to paint yellow which from what I understand is a pain, worries me a bit with coverage.

    • Hey Jim! No worries, if it’s one of my posts the chances are pretty high that I will answer, no matter when the post was released 🙂
First of all, great choice regarding the Bad Moon Orks, hehe. Painting yellow wasn’t that bad (although a lot of other colours are more easy to paint). I use regular white GW spray primer first. Then one layer of Iyanden Darksun (nowadays Averland Sunset afaik). After some washing I use to clean things up with another layer of Iyanden Darksun. Then follows a layer of Yriel Yellow. You will most likely need one or two additional layers here to get a pleasing result as the watered down Yriel Yellow really doesn’t have a high opacity. For final highlights some Ushabti Bone get’s blended in the yellow and we’re already through the whole procedure. Fell free to ask again if I wasn’t able to explain things properly 🙂
